    कल्याण : कल्याण स्टेशन आणि लालचौकी परिसरात प्रवाशांच्या जीवाशी खेळणाऱ्या बेशिस्त ऑटो रिक्षाचालकांविरोधात रविवारी उप प्रादेशिक परिवहन अधिकारी आशुतोष बारकुल यांच्या मार्गदर्शनाखाली विशेष कारवाई मोहीम राबविण्यात आली. या कारवाईमुळे दिवसभर स्टेशन परिसरात रिक्षाचालकांमध्ये एकच खळबळ उडाल्याचे चित्र पाहायला मिळाले.

    अक्षया बनसोडे, कविता पवार आणि प्रणव भुसे यांच्या विशेष पथकाने स्टेशन परिसरात थेट रस्त्यावर उतरून रिक्षांची तपासणी केली. जादा प्रवासी वाहतूक, अपूर्ण कागदपत्रे, नियमबाह्य वाहतूक आणि चालकांची माहिती यांची कसून चौकशी करण्यात आली. विशेष म्हणजे काही चालकांचे मराठी भाषेतील व्यवहारिक ज्ञानही तपासण्यात आले.

    या मोहिमेत एकूण १५ ऑटो रिक्षांची तपासणी करण्यात आली असून मोटार वाहन कायद्याचे उल्लंघन करणाऱ्या चालकांवर दंडात्मक कारवाई करण्यात आली. अचानक झालेल्या या धडक कारवाईमुळे अनेक रिक्षाचालकांनी परिसरातून काढता पाय घेतल्याची चर्चा होती.

    “प्रवाशांच्या सुरक्षिततेशी तडजोड अजिबात खपवून घेतली जाणार नाही,” असा स्पष्ट इशारा प्रशासनाकडून देण्यात आला. तसेच वाहतूक नियमांचे पालन करा, जादा प्रवासी घेऊ नका आणि कायद्याचा आदर ठेवा, अशा सूचना चालकांना देत समुपदेशनही करण्यात आले.

    कल्याण शहरातील वाढती वाहतूक कोंडी, बेशिस्त रिक्षाचालक आणि प्रवाशांच्या तक्रारी लक्षात घेता अशा प्रकारच्या विशेष कारवाया पुढील काळात अधिक तीव्र करण्यात येणार असल्याचे प्रशासनाने स्पष्ट केले.
