    दि.२ कल्याण : अवजड वाहनांच्या वाहतुकीसाठी ठरवलेला वेळापत्रक केवळ कागदापुरताच मर्यादित असल्याचे पुन्हा एकदा स्पष्ट झाले आहे. हाजीमलंग रोडवरील गर्दीच्या परिसरात एका अवजड ट्रकवरील ताबा सुटून थेट दुकानात घुसल्याची धक्कादायक घटना घडली. सुदैवाने मोठी जीवितहानी टळली असली, तरी नागरिकांच्या सुरक्षिततेचा प्रश्न पुन्हा ऐरणीवर आला आहे.

    दिनांक १ रोजी गांधारी रोडवर भरधाव डंपरचा चाका खाली येऊन एका महिलेचा दुर्दैवी मृत्यू झाला. त्याच्या अवघ्या एक दिवस आधी डोंबिवली पश्चिम भागात अशाच अपघातात एका महिलेचा जीव गेला होता. याआधीही कल्याण पूर्वेतील विजयनगर येथील तीव्र उतारावर अनेक भीषण अपघात होऊन कित्येक नागरिकांनी आपला जीव गमावला आहे.

    तरीही या मोठ्या व बेकाबू अवजड वाहनांच्या गतीवर नियंत्रण मिळवण्यात वाहतूक पोलिसांना अपयश येत असल्याचे चित्र आहे. काही सामाजिक कार्यकर्त्यांनी याबाबत वारंवार तक्रार अर्ज दाखल केल्याचे बोलले जात असले, तरी प्रत्यक्षात डंपर आणि ट्रकची वाहतूक बिनदिक्कत सुरूच आहे. दररोज कुणाचा तरी जीव जात असताना देखील ठोस कारवाई का होत नाही, असा सवाल उपस्थित केला जात आहे.

    वाहतूक पोलीस या डंपर लॉबीसमोर हतबल झाले आहेत का?

    की एवढे बळी गेल्यानंतरही कारवाई करण्याची इच्छाशक्तीच उरलेली नाही?

    की मग या मागे कुण्या बड्या हस्तीचा हस्तक्षेप आहे?असे अनेक संतप्त प्रश्न आज नागरिक विचारत आहेत. अवजड वाहनांचा हा मृत्यूचा खेळ थांबवण्यासाठी प्रशासन नेमकी केव्हा जागे होणार, हाच खरा प्रश्न आहे.
